Coron is the perfect destination for scuba divers and adventure lovers as there a many world war two Japanese wrecks in the area. There are no beaches near Coron town but the island of Coron has inland lakes and lagoons along it's coast. Kayaking through these lagoons and along the island's coast you can seen some spectacular scenery and NO crowds. Coron town is quite small and has a few bars with western food. (Pizza). HOTELS and RESORTS in CORON Sandcastles is about 21 kilometres north of Busuanga Airport. The road is slowly being sealed so the unsealed parts make the trip a bit slower. It is located on one a the very few beaches on the island of Busuanga Cheey Beach. Run by an Australian expat it mainly caters to adventure type guests. The resort arranges daily kayaking and mountain bike tours and have buffet style meals for guests. There are a few beach front bungalows with air conditioning and bathrooms. Nearby island are easily reached by kayak and snorkelling is good right in front of the resort.
The Funny Lion is located 10 minutes drive from Coron Town. It is well managed with excellent food in the restaurant opposite the swimming pool. Most rooms have a view over nearby island and it has a roof top bar with spa pools.
Two Seasons Bayside Hotel is located on the outskirts of Coron Town next to the port. Rooms a well appointed and has nice restaurant with a view of Coron Island.
Club Paradise. On its own private island north east of the Busuanga Airport. Has a beautiful white sand beach and various room types, mostly with sea views. Transfers from the airport are by van and then by boat to the island - takes about 45 minutes.
Sangat Island is about 45 minutes boat ride from Coron Town and caters mainly to scuba divers s it is very close to some of the Japanese world war 2 wrecks. It has stilted bungalows, made out of native materials, right on the beach front. Snorkelling is good 120 meters from the room which are not airconditioned. No swimming pool. Meals are buffet and included with accommodation package.
