Metro Manila is the largest city in the Philippines. It is the gateway to the many islands and is always worth a stopover, not only because flights sometimes don't connect, but because the shopping, eating and nightlife is arguably the best in Asia. Makati is the up market CBD area with beautiful shopping malls and 5 star hotels and many high quality restaurants with food from every corner of the world. It is tidy and clean with beautiful tree lined boulevards. Global City, near Makati is a fairly new major development of high rise apartments , quality hotels ,shopping malls and restaurant precincts. It is built on the original army camp, Fort Bonifacio, area in Taguig so is sometimes just called "The Fort" or Taguig. But lately the commonly local name is just "BGC". Mall of Asia (MOA) is a shopping mall in Bay City, Pasay, Philippines, near the SM Central Business Park, located on reclaimed land on Manila Bay. It has a number of excellent hotels with Sofitel a 5 star hotel located on the northern part of this reclaimed land. City of Dreams has a Hyatt Hotel and Nobu Hotel located in the casino complex. Solaire is a 5 star hotel and casino looking over Manila Bay. Microtel is a 3 star hotel very close to MOA.
