Puerto Princesa is a port town and does not have any beaches. Honda Bay is about 30 minutes from the city and has a few islands with snorkelling and small beaches. An all day island hopping tour , with lunch, can be arranged with All About Asia. It is also the jumping off point for the world heritage listed "Subterranean River" also known as the underground river. The guided river tour , in small boats, of these spectacular caves requires a permit, as daily visitor numbers are limited. The tour is about 2 hours by road from Puerto Princesa and includes lunch. El Nido area has many small islands with white sandy beaches and spectacular lagoons in Bacuit Bay. There are very a number of small hotels in and near the town but the best standard of accommodation is on the islands.
Coron area is perfect for divers, both wreck and reef diving is excellent. "Tribal Adventures" arranges kayaking, mountain biking and walking treks along with "Glamping" on remote islands and beaches.
